Definitely overshot available spoons today. Guess I’ll be heading to bed amidst the piles and chaos of organizing and purging. I succeeded in getting us to that wonky liminal space where it’s messier than when you started, but soon the space will be liberated from winter dormancy chaos into calm. Emerging from this nearly unparalleled winter of storms on a homestead is no small feat. From mud cascades to months of untended spaces, we are facing acres of high growth weeds - but also wildflowers! - thistle, but also oats. Between pushing piles around was ranch time and wandering. A mama sheep and her two babies (they typically have twins) were lost in birthing last night. This is a big loss for our little Perch. Ripples were felt from here all the way up to Ballplayer and the Fireman and beyond. But hawks, quail, bunnies, owls (welcome back 💕) and frogs…oh my goodness the frogs (!!!) - seem to all be emerging at once for Spring. The thing about piles is they will be there for the sorting another day. The miracle of spring is that it’s utterly fleeting. Grateful for the moments of feeling like Ireland in California. Sending soft breezes and sweet cool vista magic your way. 🌱🌎🐑💫 365 days of gratitude…day 212 (212/365/y13) #365DaysofGratitude #GratitudeGirl #DailyGratitude #EverydayMagic #gratefulone #littlethings #grateful #hawksperch #ducks #ducksareback #spring2023 #owls #frogs #redtailedhawk #hawks #barbadossheep #hawksperch #farmlife
